Legal Expenses Insurance

You may already have legal expenses insurance linked to your motor or household insurance, or any other type of personal insurance you have purchased. You may also have this legal expenses cover with any credit card or trade union membership that you have.

This type of policy will usually cover you for our legal costs and expenses including any court fees, together with your opponent’s legal costs and expenses.

Conditional Fee (“no win, no fee”) Agreement

If you have no legal expenses insurance, then Aegis Legal will usually deal with your case on a Conditional Fee (“no win, no fee”) basis. In successful cases, Aegis Legal will recover legal costs from your opponent.

If the case is unsuccessful, then Aegis Legal will waive any legal charges. We will also take out a separate legal expenses insurance policy to cover you against any legal costs and expenses your opponent has incurred.

Legal Aid

Unfortunately, Community Legal Service Funding (formerly known as legal aid) is not usually available for accident claims.

Funding may be available at the discretion of the Legal Services Commission in exceptional cases, in particular where the issues involved in the case are of significant wider public interest or the case is of overwhelming importance. You must also be financially eligible for legal representation and be able to show that there are no alternative means of funding available.
